How This Works

How This Works
So, in creating this blog, this is what we had in mind:

A. Keep it short and sweet.

B. Rating scale, as follows:
0 = Not comin' back, ever
1 = Mediocre at best, doubtful we'll be back anytime soon
2 = Good, but not the best
3 = Pretty darn good (maybe even great)

C. If you keep following this blog, you'll get the gist of it. Please feel free to leave your comments and suggestions.

Chicago

Meli's Cafe and Juice Bar
(American; 540 N. Wells St.)

Rating: 2

Here we were thinking: Sunday brunch.

Give it a try: Any of their scrambles or omelettes.

We'll pass: No adult beverages, such as a Bloody Mary!

Aviary

Rating: 2.5

Here we were thinking: Cocktails redefined.

Give it a try: Whatever tickles your fancy...it will certainly surprise you.

We'll pass: On the no flash photography policy (hence why there are no photos posted), and the fact that to do the tasting menu everyone in your party must also have it.

Luxbar
(Steak House; 18 East Bellevue Place)

Rating: 2

Here we were thinking: Casual dinning.

Give it a try: Crab cake appetizer, a Gibson steak, and the ahi tuna (for the pescetarian).

We'll pass: On it being nothing special.

Piece
(Pizzeria/Brewery; 1927 West North Avenue)

Rating: 3

Here we were thinking: A thin slice of pizza in a deep dish town!

Here we were thinking: Lunch in Bucktown.

Give it a try: A spring salad and any of the desserts.
We'll pass: On nothing.

Bin 36
(Wine Bar; 339 North Dearborn St.)

Rating: 3

Here we were thinking: Wine and cheese, please.

Give it a try: Any flight of wine and a cheese plate of your liking.

We'll pass: On nothing.

Frontera Grill
(Mexican; 449 North Clark Street)

Rating: 3

Here we were thinking: A must when in Chicago.

Give it a try: Literally anything!

We'll pass: On nothing.

Pierrot Gourmet
(Cafe; 108 E. Superior St.)

Rating: 3

Here we were thinking: Light lunch near the magnificent mile.

Give it a try: Salad nicoise and a chopped shrimp salad.
